Great weather, great company, great swag (not so much great golfing.) After over a year of not being able to see each other in person, the FPG team got together last week for our first-ever golf outing! It was so great to see everybody’s faces! Some of the agents had never even met the team, as they joined the company during this past year of COVID and quarantines. We met at Eagle Creek Golf Course, off of 56th St and 465, in Indianapolis. A special thanks to their team for hosting (and putting up with our crazy!)
With over 20 people, we arranged to do a shotgun start. For you non-golf outing people, this just means that groups start at different holes so they can wrap up around the same time. We also played “best ball” which I learned meant that everyone hits from their tee but then the 2nd shot goes wherever the best ball landed. I’m not a golfer but I did get to hit off the tee and even tried my hand at putting (not the same as putt-putt guys, not the same.) Side note – I had no idea how many golf balls you could go through in one outing! Ha! After each team wrapped up, we held a putting contest to give out some prizes. The golf course had a banquet room that we were able to use for lunch after. We really enjoyed getting outside and spending the day together!
There were only a handful of “golfers” – the rest of us were just there for the fun! We mixed and matched so we could get to hang out with different people. We *might* have gotten lost at one point and ended up on the wrong course. We didn’t stay spread out the whole time. Eventually, we all found each other and by the end, we were all driving up to the clubhouse like a scene out of Braveheart. I only mention all this so you know that even if you’re not a golfer, you can still have a great time out on the course! It’s a great choice for a team outing!
