EASY APRIL FOOLS DAY PRANKS

Are you a prankster? When the first of April rolls around each year, can you contain yourself? I feel like most people have a love/hate relationship with April Fool’s Day. Personally, I don’t really care. I couldn’t tell you if or when I ever partook in this particular holiday. I’m all for a little merriment and fun, but why April 1st!?

According to History.com, we’ve celebrated this foolish day for several centuries and is observed by different cultures, however its exact origins remain a mystery. You can read more here about speculation and various origin theories. Rather than bore you with the history, we thought we’d share some good old fashioned fun and ideas to get you in the mood.

Like I said, I’m not April Fool’s biggest fan, but a little prank here and there never hurt anyone. (Emphasis on *little*!! I’ve heard literal horror stories of pranks gone wrong resulting in major injury or worse, death. Less is more, people!) Like googly eyes! Have your kids seen this on their favorite YouTuber’s channel yet? Basically all you need to do is hit up your favorite crafts store for some googly eyes. Get them in various sizes for extra fun. Then you take said googly eyes and with some dabs of glue, fix them to the various items in your fridge. Make sure they’re all facing forward so that when your roommate, spouse, or kiddos go for their next snack they’re greeted by some friendly faces!.

Easter is just a few days away. Anyone else love those little chocolate eggs?? What if you replaced those chocolates with grapes? Now there’s one way to get your kids (or husband) to eat some fruit!

I don’t know one person who enjoys sharing their home with bugs. Especially BIG bugs… I LOVE this prank found on pinterest. All you have to do is cut out bug-shaped figures on some black construction paper. Then take said bug and tape it to the inside of a lampshade. When your unsuspecting roommate flips the lightswitch and sees that cockroaches outline inside the lamp, they’ll be sure to freek!

Anyone else live with a neat freak?! I saw this one on pinterest and had to include it because I know it would really grind my husband’s gears! Take an empty nailpolish bottle and fill it ⅔ of the way with Elmer’s glue. Mix in some acrylic paint of a color of your choosing. Once it’s mixed, set the nailpolish bottle on its side over some wax paper or a flat surface lined with foil or plastic wrap. Make sure the “polish” is oozing out of the opening to look spilled. Once it’s dry, place it on the carpet, rug, granite countertops… somewhere that will make that neat freak FREAK! Then once you’ve had your laugh, pick up your prang and show them no harm no foul.

What are your favorite pranks to pull!?

I probably should tell you that I am an FPG agent and our Social Media Coordinator. I’m a boy mom for life and constantly chasing messes (when I’m not breaking up fights!) and truly love serving my community by way of real estate. I get to meet and help so many amazing people around town! It has been an awesome career. Now as the brokerage’s Social Media Coordinator, I get to brag about how awesome our city and people are. Win win.

My husband and I were referred to FPG when we returned home to Indiana. I was drawn to their way of doing business and when I was offered an opportunity to join them the choice was easy! If you’re thinking of a career in real estate, or one with Ferris Property Group, we’d love to talk.
